Easily the most ambitious project of the year.
Halsey has been in the limelight for some time now, thanks to her first EP. Now, thanks to Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, she has managed to climb a step higher up the ladder of prominence.
Halsey’s second is all about impossible love, misunderstandings and loneliness. The result is a list of 16 songs in its deluxe edition, without losing sight of pop music. It constitutes a tense and dark background.
Let’s begin with The Prologue: a track with an exciting speech. Which immediately improves with interesting chords of processed voices. Tracks like Alone, Bad At Love and Heaven In Hiding show that Halsey leads the Alternative Pop game.
The good news is that Hopeless Fountain Kingdom is full of the very strong personality we expected from someone with Halsey’s fan base. Ultimately, she creates an excellent production. This work is by far her brightest and sounds really uptempo.
The advantage of this record is the proposal, with a clear objective and direction, which is already a great achievement. Some of the best pop songs of last year are in this album.
