For the love of self-help, politics, the piano, the dance floor, hip-hop and some experimentation.
Coldplay released in the summer of 2017 their new production: Kaleidoscope. Full of color and interesting song names, the album sounds more like a retrospective summary of all the aspects that we have known by the British band. This EP is quick and effective, song by song.
First of all, it’s no accident that its best song opens the playlist. All I Can Think About Is You is their classic epic song, which after a quieter start, runs into a 100% Coldplay piano in what is an exciting crescendo. If you listen carefully, you can find David Bowie and Pink Floyd inspirations hidden underneath the surface.
Miracles (Someone Special) is the song of self-help. Its guitars are funky and its intentions are really good. And we can’t forget to mention the awesome collaboration of Big Sean. Something Just Like This comes next which is a collaboration with The Chainsmokers. But a strange name, frankly, because there has never been anything like this from Coldplay!
Kaleidoscope proves how versatile Coldplay is and no wonder that, in 2017, they continue sweeping radios with these beautiful tracks.
